What strengths or challenges are unique to your school district's arts programming, and what would you like voters to know about your perspective on them?
When budget cuts forced the district to cut elementary arts education, I played a key role through PSFA in securing funding to restore this important component of students’ education. We need to advocate for adequate funding to return arts instruction to our district budget. There are currently great programs for our students to engage in the arts and there are options to further engage students. Through our focus on CTE and College in the High School, we have the opportunity to offer students additional experiences in the arts.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your vision for supporting arts education, or how arts education fits with your campaign as a whole?
The benefits of regular art instruction is well-documented and wide-reaching. Our school decisions need to demonstrate a commitment to providing a range of creative and relevant offerings of high interest to students.

It is important to me that our school district is able to provide access to all students to all types of arts and opportunities to explore the arts as opportunities through CTE programs.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your vision for supporting arts education, or how arts education fits with your campaign as a whole?
I think have a creative way to express yourself is something that all students should have the opportunity to explore through exposure to the visual arts, theater, music, and new technologies that provide creative expression. This not only builds empathy, but allows the developing brain to learn multiple ways to process information.
